The wine glossary is a collection of terms that will aid your understanding of the characteristics of PDO Naousa wines.

aftertaste

The taste or flavors that linger in the mouth after the wine is tasted or swallowed. If the flavor lingers, we speak of a “long” aftertaste.

A wine with soft tannins.

Grape substances that give wine an astringent taste and become softer with aging and maturation.

The total acid content of the wine.

Keeping wine in the bottle before taking it to market.

Keeping wine in the barrels.

Due mostly to the tannins, it characterizes red wines and renders wine non-aqueous.

A wine distinguished by the harmonious coexistence of alcohol, acids, and tannins.

A wine in which, during alcoholic fermentation, all sugars have been fermented.
